Letter on a visit to a historical place

My dear Student, Letter Writing can be fun, particularly when you write it to your friend. When you visit a historical place and have fun. And after reaching your home, you write it down for a friend in a letter format to entertain your friend, it is so joyous. I have a few pen friends to whom I send letters, particularly for fun. But whenever I try to write, I find it irresistible to stop. I think I have missed so many things in my letter.

The letter to a friend on a visit to a historical place that I am writing below is for educational purposes only and has no connection to my personal self. Read it and learn how to write such letters.

Q. Write a letter to your friend describing a visit to a place of historical importance. Hints: date of visit -- place of visit -- your companion -- mode of transport -- worth seeing places -- your impression.

A Visit to a Historical Place

Address ------------
Date ----------------

Dear Prashant,

I completed a tour outside the state on 10th October last week. It was a nice evening when I started for Delhi with my parents. My elder sister was with us. She was my constant companion throughout the tour. We set out from Howrah by Vande Bharat which reached Delhi the next day. It was a pleasant journey indeed. Delhi is a place of historic interest. I visited there the Red Fort, Moti Masjid and Kutub Minar. I also saw the Parliament House, Shantiban, Rajghat and the most modern shopping complex of the capital. I visited the places on a bus used for conducting tours. The historical places took me to the days of the Muslim rule in India. Delhi is, in fact, a place where the decaying past and the developing present co-exist side by side. I enjoyed the visit very much and the memory of the visit will remain vivid in my mind for many days to come.

All the best

Letter to a Friend after Visiting a Place of Historic Importance

Dear Riya,

I have no news of you for a long time. I too was busy and was unable to write to you. Anyway, you will be glad to know that recently I visited Hyderabad. We are wondering how to spend the long puja vacation. Then my dad suggested that we should go to Hyderabad for a short tour. We set out from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on the 8th of this month. It was a short and comfortable journey. We prefer the aeroplane because of my younger sister Diya. My parents consider her too young to bear a long train journey. After reaching the hotel where we would stay, we found that the manager of the hotel already arranged a car for us. As we were not tired at all, we decided to have a ride in the surroundings that afternoon. We visited the Charminar that evening. The next day we went to Golconda Fort, Ramoji Film City and Shri Jagannath Temple. We also visited Birla Mandir, Hussain Sagar Lake, Mecca Masjid, Laad Bazar, Qutub Shahi Tombs and Birla Science Museum. The guide suggested a few more places. But due to the busy schedule of my dad, we return on the 11th.

The tour was a memorable one. It would stay long in my mind. Have you planned anything for the vacation?

Yours ever

I hope these two examples will help you to understand how to explain your visit to a historical place in short. Do practising, as letter writing is an art and needs to be practised.

Stay healthy. See you soon in my next letter-writing guide.

Yours ever,

The Author.
